Set in the fictional state of San Andreas, based in Southern California, the story of single-player GTA V follows three protagonists — retired bank robber Michael De Santa, street gangster Franklin Clinton and drug and arms dealer Trevor Philips — and their efforts to commit robberies under pressure from a corrupt government agency and powerful criminals. The open world design allows players to roam freely through the open countryside of San Andreas and the fictional city of Los Santos, based in Los Angeles.
