Review: Starfield explained to parents (Preview)

Starfield Featured Ecran Partage

What parents need to know

Starfield is the game that introduces a brand new universe developed by Bethesda, and it is to be released on September 6, 2023. It is an RPG in a vast open world.

The game is set in the 24th century, when humanity explores space both to settle on new planets and to find rare artifacts. The player character is a member of the group of explorers named Constellation. They will have the opportunity to navigate the vastness of space and to visit over a thousand planets. During their adventures, the player character will visit various biomes and cities, interact with and recruit all kinds of NPCs, take part in adventures on behalf of different factions, collect resources, and build outposts.

Like most of the studio’s other open-world RPGs, Starfield allows players to customize their character, whether it is their appearance, their background, or their traits. It will also be possible to customize your own ship, which serves both for transport and to participate in space battles. This game can be played in first person or third person view. It differs from the studio’s other open-world RPGs with its new space combat system and the greater emphasis it puts on resource management.

This highly anticipated single-player game is recommended for a mature audience (18+).

Evaluation

Characters use futuristic weapons such as rifles, lasers, axes, and explosives. The fighting is fast-paced and features gunshots, screams of pain, bloodshed, and explosions. Enemies can be humans, robots, and alien creatures.

Some dialogues can be suggestive and can contain sexual innuendos. It is possible to share a bed with some NPCs.

Like many Bethesda games, Starfield requires good reading skills to understand missions and to enjoy the storytelling.

There are threats and obscenities in the dialogues. The fictional drug Aurora occupies a fairly important place in the narrative. The player character can obtain it, steal it, buy it, and consume it. A section of the story has the player character work in an illicit shop related to this drug.

Acheter le jeu une fois, achats intégrés
