The Quebec Video Game Guild presents the new course: “The Ubisoft Entrepreneurial Caravan”

Montreal, November 8, 2023, La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec and Ubisoft proudly announce their partnership for the creation of the Ubisoft Entrepreneurial Caravan, presented by National Bank.

This innovative program, the first of its kind in Canada, acts as an accelerator designed to support the growth of video game entrepreneurs in Quebec, by offering them a four-step pathway. Led by experts from the ecosystem, the tour will include training, networking, professional exchanges and the opportunity for the general public to discover the studios.

Covering topics ranging from business start-up to commercialization, including the search for financing, it aims to offer independent video game companies a complete experience to ensure the success of their entrepreneurial projects.

Jean Jacques Hermans, Executive Director of La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec, points out that the Ubisoft Entrepreneurial Caravan is a perfect fit with the mission of supporting entrepreneurship and the continuous development of independent studios. Thanks to the support of Ubisoft and National Bank, this initiative, unique in Canada, will make it possible to adapt programs to meet the specific needs of companies at all stages of their growth.

Olivier Delisle, Director of Ubisoft Entrepreneur, highlights Ubisoft’s continued involvement in the development of the video game ecosystem in Quebec. He considers that this new program offers an innovative and more advanced pathway, meeting the needs of a mature and solid ecosystem.

The Ubisoft Entrepreneurial Caravan journey will take place in four stages throughout the year:

  • In February, the Caravan will be in Quebec City, focusing on entrepreneurship in startup mode with interactive trainings.
  • In May, the Caravan will travel to the regions to address entrepreneurship in growth mode, offering workshops on the marketing, marketing and visibility of Quebec games in a competitive market.
  • In November, the Publishers’ Caravan will focus on entrepreneurship in marketing and partnership mode.
  • In December, the Winter Caravan will host a summit of video game executives and meet with the public on social initiatives related to the industry’s expertise and products.

The program will be launched in 2024 and will be added to the existing offer of La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec. Registration details will be announced at a later date.

The Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec is a non-profit cooperative of independent and international video game developers, creators, educational institutions and entrepreneurs based in Quebec. It is a major global player in the video game industry, with more than 300 members, making it the largest group of its kind in the world.
