{"id":29209,"date":"2024-07-18T11:30:46","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T15:30:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ecranpartage.ca\/promenade-our-impressions-of-the-demo\/"},"modified":"2024-07-19T15:09:17","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T19:09:17","slug":"promenade-our-impressions-of-the-demo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ecranpartage.ca\/en\/promenade-our-impressions-of-the-demo","title":{"rendered":"Promenade: Our impressions of the demo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Promenade is a 2D platformer where the character can grab objects or enemies, place them above his head, and use them to jump a second time, throw them, or activate mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, this is totally the mechanics of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Klonoa\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Klonoa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Klonoa<\/a><\/strong>, Bandai Namco&#8217;s famous platformer series started in 1997, but the creators of Promenade said that they were not aware of this until they released the game.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The jumps in Promenade are as frustrating as they are in Klonoa, because the developers want to encourage players to double-jump with an enemy constantly.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The art direction is great, but I&#8217;m more used to Klonoa&#8217;s which uses more bright colors. As you&#8217;ll see in the video, I was often lost in environments, and this discouraged me. I didn&#8217;t understand the objectives in the second part of the demo.
