Montreal, QC \u2013 September 25, 2024 \u2013 <\/strong>The Quebec Video Game Guild, in partnership with XP Gaming Inc., is proud to announce the return of the Montreal International Game Summit (MIGS)<\/strong> in 2024, whose programming this year focuses on external development – a key growth driver for the recovering global video game industry.\nThis year, MIGS will serve as a critical business event, highlighting the importance of collaboration between vendors, developers, and external developers. <\/p>\n\n

This year, MIGS <\/strong>is introducing the Game Caviar ExDev Lounge<\/strong>, a dedicated space for external developers to network with major industry buyers, including 2K Games, Tencent, Riot Games, Microsoft, Sony PlayStation<\/strong>, and Haven Studios<\/strong>, among others.\nA unique opportunity for the Quebec industry to secure valuable partnerships, and for buyers to advance their projects. <\/p>\n\n

Reports, such as DDM’s Games Investment Review<\/a>, demonstrate that the global gaming industry is recovering and growing, with increased revenue and investment as studios adapt to new challenges.\nGriffin Gaming Partners points out <\/a>that rising development costs and the growing importance of live service models are pushing studios to rely on external developers for faster and more efficient production. <\/p>\n\n

Jason L\u00e9pine, <\/strong>Founder and CEO of XP Gaming, notes: “The global video game industry is expected to reach $187.7 billion in revenue in 2024, with $25 billion to $30 billion coming from external development.
