Which LEGO game to choose (on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 5 and 4, Xbox One, Series, PC)?

Quel LEGO choisir Ecran Partage

LEGO video games are numerous and for the most part are similar. These are adaptations of movies, popular TV series known, which transform all the characters and the universe in question into LEGO. This results in playable adventure games for 1 or 2 players. Some exceptions are playable with 4 players.

Each of these adventure games offer to go through many levels, collect many hidden objects in the levels, collect coins to unlock bonuses, play as a multitude of characters. The games encourage you to repeat the same levels several times as players learn new skills as they progress, and some paths are only accessible with the skills acquired afterwards.

Games sometimes have camera problems especially with 2 or more players. That is, the camera does not always show what it should show in certain phases. In some cases, it gets stuck in walls and obstacles.

The characters in the games do not take themselves seriously and are very humorous.

Apart from the very successful and popular adventure games, there are a few exceptions more based on the construction of LEGO bricks.

We explain all this to you:

LEGO Worlds

LEGO Worlds is an open environment made up of automatically and randomly generated LEGO worlds. You can manipulate, add, remove the LEGO bricks you want. You can also create what you want in these worlds with the many tools available. After creating your world, you can explore it with many vehicles, dragons, gorillas and unlock treasures.

It’s the game that comes closest to the LEGO video game toy experience.

It’s also a game that tries the same experience as Minecraft without succeeding. The controls are not intuitive. Many computer bugs exist and the game does not seem to be over.

We do not recommend this game.

What are the LEGO Deluxe Edition?

When a LEGO game is available in Deluxe Edition, i.e. it includes additional downloadable content in addition to the main game. Downloadable content is mostly additional characters and levels. This downloadable content can be purchased separately. Depending on the title, the Deluxe Edition may contain all of the downloadable content released or not. It will be necessary to buy more content separately to get the whole game.

Most of the time the main game alone is more than enough to have fun. Only fans of this or that character or franchise will want to get everything.

Which LEGO game to choose?

Obviously if you or your child are fans of one of the LEGO-adapted movie franchises, you can easily get the game. Whether it’s Jurassic World, Harry Potter, Marvel or Star Wars, you’re spoilt for choice.

LEGO Builder’s Journey is a very good puzzle game for kids.

Just don’t buy LEGO Worlds.

Outside of LEGO Worlds, the quality of recent LEGO games on average is very good. They make good entertainment for children. And no doubt you’ll buy more LEGO toys after allowing your kids to play the corresponding video games, and movies. The quality is not exceptional but it is enough for many people.

When LEGO started coming into the world of video games (20 years ago), games at the time were really bad experiences.
