40th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros.
A selection of titles for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, as well as a new animated film and other activities, will commemorate 40 years since the release of the first Super Mario Bros. in Japan. Visitors to the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan, will also have access to a 40th anniversary light show, a new ticket design for a limited time, and a selection of Super Mario artwork and pixel art.
The Super Mario Galaxy movie
Mr. Miyamoto presented a short video revealing The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as the name of the new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros. which will be released worldwide from April 3, 2026.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
The heroic games have begun. The latest installment in the Fire Emblem series is about to hit the scene. The first trailer offers a glimpse into the complex story, characters, and turn-based tactical RPG experience that awaits players when it launches on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 :
Save Bowser’s galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy, then travel aboard the Mario Ship to save the galaxy again in Super Mario Galaxy 2 with Yoshi as your companion! Both titles feature an improved interface, the ability to play with buttons and levers or with motion controls, an in-game music player, new storybooks, and better resolution. In addition, a free update will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, which will add 4K resolution² compatibility for both titles. Buy each game individually or enjoy it together. Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 launches on October 2 on Nintendo Switch. Two amiibo for Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be released next year! Mario and Luma can be scanned in both games to receive an energy mushroom, and Rosalina and Luma will give you a 1-UP mushroom! These two larger amiibo will be available on April 2nd. You can enjoy Rosalina’s book at home with a hardcover illustrated edition, featuring the original Super Mario Galaxy illustrations and story. Visit the My Nintendo Shop for more details.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Following an unexpected accident, Samus finds herself transported to the mysterious planet Viewros. Scan your surroundings for clues, make the most of your gear and weapons, and use Samus’ new psychic abilities and her technologically advanced motorcycle, the Vai-O-La, to traverse and explore the environment. You’ll need all the tools at your disposal to survive and escape Viewros! Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on December 4. Plus, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond amiibo figures will be available soon! Samus (Metroid Prime 4), Samus, and Vai-O-La (Metroid Prime 4) will be available on November 6, and the enigmatic bounty hunter, Sylux (Metroid Prime 4) will be released on the same day as the game, December 4 (amiibo sold separately). Details about the in-game feature Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be announced at a later date.
The Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective book will be released on October 28, featuring concept art and behind-the-scenes artwork from Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption , and Metroid Prime Remastered, with exclusive commentary from producer Kensuke Tanabe and Retro Studios. Available for pre-order today at select retailers. Pokémon Pokopia : Play as a Ditto, who has transformed into a human, to shape a pristine land and make it a beautiful home for a variety of Pokémon. Learn new moves with the Pokémon you encounter to develop and create a paradise with lots of tasks to complete. Collect berries, rocks, and wood, craft furniture, grow vegetables in the fields you’ve ploughed, build homes for the Pokémon you encounter, and much more! Pokémon Pokopia is taking shape on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Pre-orders for the digital version will be available in Nintendo eShop and the My Nintendo Shop from November 12.
Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush
In this paid-to-play DLC³ expansion, you’ll race with Donkey Kong and Pauline to DK Island, home to some familiar characters. When you’ve completed the main game story, Void Kong will even offer you a position at the Void Company, collecting as many emeralds as possible in Emerald Race, both on DK’s island and in the main game. In each run in this new mode, you’ll collect fossils to get useful talents for different effects and smash Banandium Crystals to give DK different skills. Play this mode to unlock new outfits and fashion items, collectible statues that can be displayed on DK Island and more. The Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 system later today. A free demo of the main game will also be available in Nintendo eShop later today.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension
Online Ranked Battles, new Mega Evolutions for Epic Armor, Grub, and Greninja will be available in Pokémon Legends: Z-A when the game launches on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on October 16! Then, continue your adventures in Illumis with the Paid DLC⁴ expansion
Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension
Distortions in space and time have suddenly appeared and are connected to a mysterious space called Extra Illumis. Discover new Mega Evolutions like Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, and more when Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Mega Dimension DLC launches on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch soon.
Two new amiibo for Kirby Air Riders –
Kirby and the Star Warp and Bandana Waddle Dee and the Winged Star, release on the same day as the game, November 20 (amiibo sold separately). Scan them to summon player characters to the game that you can train and level up. You can also swap riders just like in the game to choose your rider and your car. Plus, more Kirby Air Riders amiibo figures will be available soon. That’s not all: a second Kirby Air Riders Direct presentation, presented by game director Mr. Sakurai, is planned before launch.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
Fight hordes of enemies alongside your allies and team up with them to unleash powerful synchronized strikes. Strategically deploy powerful artifacts with water, wind, and other effects to change the tide of battle. Battle alongside a friend in co-op split-screen⁵ or use GameShare⁶ to play together on two consoles if one player owns the game. Check out the canonical events briefly hinted at in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom when Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 6.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park:
More experiences are coming to the Kingdom of Flowers! Enjoy a variety of attractions in the Bellabel Park Square that allow you to team up (or compete) with family and friends locally⁵ or online⁴. Collect the most coins, run and hide in Tag Phanto, work together to get a Bob-omb across the finish line and much more! This Nintendo Switch 2 Edition version adds even more content and improvements. Stay tuned for additional information. Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 system in Spring 2026.
That’s not all… you will soon be able to have your own Flower Cancan of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Place it in your home to add a little extra fun to your day. These flowers can talk. Even if they can’t have a conversation, they will sometimes talk about themselves (if you want to). The Cancan Flowers will bloom in the spring of 2026.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
One day, on the island where Yoshi and his friends live, a strange talking book called Mr. E suddenly falls from the sky. These strange book pages contain information about unusual creatures and Yoshi decides to jump into the book and investigate. Join Yoshi for a new adventure; Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in spring 2026.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
On a small island floating in the sea, Mii characters live their carefree lives. You’re the head of this island, so create any Mii character inspired by your friends, family, or yourself! Then, choose their personality and voice and help them enjoy their island life the way they want. You can see what’s on their minds, help them solve problems, see them interact, cultivate friendships, and much more. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will be released on Nintendo Switch in spring 2026.
Mario Tennis Fever :
Get in on the action with 30 different frantic rackets, each with their own special skills, and 38 characters to play as for the first time in the series. Use brushed, cut, candle and other familiar techniques combined with new movement techniques and defensive maneuvers. You’ll be able to enjoy several modes, including Tournaments, Crucible Rounds, Special Games (with stupendous effects!) and Adventure modes, where Mario and his friends are transformed into babies and must defeat monsters to return to normal. Plus, enjoy the Joy-Con 2’s motion controls with Dynamic Mode! Mario Tennis Fever launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 on February 12.
Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics
Select games from Nintendo’s stereoscopic 3D console, Virtual Boy, are coming to Nintendo Classics exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members⁷. To play it, you’ll need Joy-Con or Joy-Con 2 controllers and the included dedicated accessory⁸ based on the original Virtual Boy hardware – stereoscopic 3D, by inserting the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch console. Immerse yourself in games like Mario’s Tennis, Galactic Pinball, Teleroboxer , and more when they release. Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics arrives in Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on February 17. The accessory needed to play Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics, as well as a cardboard version, will be available for pre-purchase in the My Nintendo Store soon.
