Metroid Prime 4 Beyond

VANCOUVER, B.C., March 27, 2025 – Today’s Nintendo Direct presentation highlighted new games, and more coming to the Nintendo Switch system in 2025 and beyond. Revelations included the announcement of a new smart device app called Nintendo Today! that includes a variety of content, including news and videos about your favorite Nintendo games and characters from select franchises. In addition to the games that are coming to the Nintendo Switch console, such as the recently announced games Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, the presentation also offered a new look at the Pokémon Legends: Z-Aand Metroid Prime 4: Beyond games, to name a few. The Virtual Game Card feature was also announced, which simplifies the organization of digital games and allows players to lend or borrow games between multiple members of a family group of Nintendo Accounts.

Several Nintendo Switch games from Nintendo’s publisher and developer partners around the world were also highlighted during the presentation, including Tamagotchi Plaza, available on June 27; Marvel Cosmic Invasion, available in winter; STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar, offered on August 27; PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY, offered on July 11; and DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake offered this year. And that’s not all! Several announced games will be available later today on the Nintendo Switch system: SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered, Rift of the NecroDancer , andDisney Villains Cursed Café.

  • Nintendo Today! : An all-new app* that delivers Nintendo content to your smart devices. This smart device app is like a daily calendar that includes a variety of content, including news, videos, and comics about your favorite Nintendo games and characters from select franchises. After the Nintendo Direct presentation on the Nintendo Switch 2 system on April 2nd, you can find information about the Nintendo Switch 2 system directly on the app. Any Nintendo Account holder and a compatible smart device can use the free app. Available for download from the App Store and Google Play later today.
  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A : Choose from Cute Fish, Gruikui, or Kaiminus to be your starting partner Pokémon and begin a new adventure in Illumis, a setting that also appeared in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games for Nintendo 3DS family systems. This is Quasartico Inc. is carrying out an urban renewal with the aim of making it easier for Pokémon and humans to coexist. But when the sun goes down, the battle rages on. At night, highly skilled Trainers are invited to participate in the Z-A Tournament Royale: Simply enter a battle to begin your ascent from Z Rank to A Rank. It seems that a wish is granted to the Desseurs who reach the summit. Day and night reveal two sides of Illumis… So what will you find on your adventure? Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be available on the Nintendo Switch console later in 2025.
  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond : Samus Aran has been unexpectedly transported to the planet Viewros. As she explores the planet in search of answers, Samus gains the mysterious and ancient psychic powers that allow her to control the trajectory of her rays, operate mechanisms, and open doors. Why were these powers granted to Samus and what will be her fate? Threats intertwining beyond space and time will begin to weave a new story when Metroid Prime 4: Beyond launches on the Nintendo Switch system this year.
  • MARVEL Cosmic Invasion : Join Marvel’s greatest superheroes, including Wolverine, Spider-Man, Nova, Captain America, and more, in a battle against the supervillain Annihilus. In this 2D beat-‘en-up action-packed arcade game, the timeless brawl craze has been modernized with dynamic team-based combat and a pixelated art style that represents the classic spirit of Marvel character designs. In addition, up to four players can team up for local** and online co-op games***. From New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone, the future of the Marvel Universe will be defended through the stars in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, coming to Nintendo Switch this winter.
  • STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar : Welcome to the city of Zephyr. Its bazaar, once a popular destination, is now in a state of disrepair. Originally available on the Nintendo DS system, this comfortable farm living experience enhances the original version by adding updated visuals, new characters, an expanded story and voice-over event scenes. Take on the role of a new resident, with the power to blow a new wind on the city and restore the market’s destiny. Rebuild your farm and spend every day planting, watering, and harvesting your crops while caring for the animals. Learn how to explore the unique winds of Zephyr City to make farm life and travel easier. Then, gather your crops to sell on your customizable stalls during the weekly bazaar. Along the way, you’ll forge friendships with a cast of charming villagers. And who knows, if you find your soulmate, there might be romance. STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar will be available on the Nintendo Switch system on August 27.
  • Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream : The Tomodachi Life series is back with its newest entry for over 10 years. Create your own Mii character based on you, your friends, your family, anyone, and watch them live their lives on a beach island. Get involved in their relationships and discover the weird and wonderful ways these Mii characters interact. You might even appear in their dreams! Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will launch on the Nintendo Switch system in 2026.
  • Monument Valley, Monument Valley 2 and Monument Valley 3 : Embark on a series of peaceful adventures through this trilogy of meditative puzzle games. Explore isometric worlds filled with individually created puzzles to unravel, dazzling landscapes to manipulate, optical illusions and mysterious secrets to uncover. Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 offer all additional chapters, additional and downloadable content for a complete experience. Monument Valley 3 is a new entry for novices and introduces dynamic maritime navigation mechanics that offer extensive exploration across calm waters. Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 will be available on the Nintendo Switch system on April 15, and pre-orders will begin later today in Nintendo eShop. Monument Valley 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch this summer.
  • SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered :In this classic role-playing game remastered in HD, enter the world of Sandail and follow the intertwined fates of Gustave, a royal heir caught in a power struggle, and Wil, an excavator who uncovers a hidden danger that threatens the world. Their adventures unfold through the innovative story choice system, where key events can be experienced from multiple perspectives. Featuring deep storytelling and strategic combat, SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered weaves a story of legacy and destiny that unfolds across generations. Featuring high-definition watercolor visuals, additional in-game events, and refined gameplay mechanics, you can experience the story once again when SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered launches on the Nintendo Switch system later today.
  • Rhythm Heaven Groove : The Rhythm Heaven series is back with its first new entry: Rhythm Heaven Groove! Play a host of eclectic rhythm games with music produced by renowned Japanese musician Tsunku ♂. Don’t miss a beat when Rhythm Heaven Groove launches on the Nintendo Switch console in 2026.
  • Virtual Game Cards: Meet the Virtual Game Card, a new feature to easily organize your digital games, play games on two different consoles, and even lend and borrow games. Similar in concept to moving physical game cards between consoles, the Virtual Game Card allows you to “eject” a purchased digital game from one Nintendo Switch console and “load” it into another, whether that console belongs to a member of the same family group of a Nintendo Account, or linked to a second console associated with your account. This optional feature allows you to view virtual game cards or eject them from your console. The digital game can also be loaned to a Nintendo Account family group member’s console via a local wireless connection. The games you lend can then be played on the console of a family group member with a Nintendo Account for two weeks, after which the game will be automatically returned to you. This feature will be available on the Nintendo Switch console starting in late April via a software update. In addition, virtual game cards will also be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 console at launch.
  • Tamagotchi Plaza : Tamagotchi Plaza is the latest entry in the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series of shop simulator games. Set in the charming town of Tamahiko, players will manage a dozen different shops and interact with over 100 Tamagotchi as you take orders, help find lost items, and improve the reputation of each shop. Create the perfect glasses for your customers in the “Eveware Shop”, make the tables that match your style in the tea shop, visit the dentist where cavities are treated and much more. Plus, play with your friends in two shops with local co-op and two-player versus modes. Celebrate the world of Tamagotchi when Tamagotchi Plaza launches on the Nintendo Switch console on June 27.
  • DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake: These modernized versions of two legendary Japanese role-playing games continue the narrative of the Erdrick trilogy from the iconic DRAGON QUEST series.
  • Rift of the NecroDancer : Cadence and his friends are back in an all-new rhythm game where every note is a monster to take down. Drawn into a strange new world, you’ll perform rhythmic combat where every beat is a fight, all to the beat of the original soundtrack by Danny Baranowsky and his friends. Plus, even more musical mayhem awaits you in the paid DLC**** Celeste Music Pack, with even more content to come. Keep up the pace with epic boss battles, quirky minigames, remixed levels, and online global leaderboards*** when Rift of the NecroDancer hits Nintendo eShop later today!
  • PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY : The classic rhythm and action games remastered Patapon and Patapon 2 are coming to the Nintendo Switch console! The mysterious endearing creatures known as Patapon are guided in their adventures by the rhythm of four drums. Play these drums in rhythm to give different commands to your army of Patapons. There are several classes of Patapons, including Tatepon who wields the shield and Kibapon who rides a horse, allowing for different tactical approaches when fighting against a variety of ferocious forces. PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY is coming to the Nintendo Switch console on July 11.
  • Disney Villains Cursed Café : The dreams of Disney’s villains are in your hands as a potion maker newly responsible for a potion café in this video game novel, illustrated in 2D style with hand-drawn elements. Reimagined with a modern twist, players chat with Cruella de Vil, the Evil Queen, Gaston, Captain Hook, Jafar, Maleficent, Ursula, and more as they navigate the ramifications of the narrative stories that unfold. Use ingredients donated by Yzma to brew a variety of potions for each villain to help them fulfill their desires while trying to uncover the mystery of this strange café. Disney Villains Cursed Café will be available on the Nintendo Switch console later today.
  • EVERYBODY’S GOLF: Hot Shots : The popular golf game series debuts on the Nintendo Switch console with a variety of characters and courses. The three-button firing mechanism allows anyone to start a game; Easy to learn, but difficult to master. Win tournaments in the single-player challenge mode to unlock characters and courses, or try the new Wacky Golf mode, where all kinds of tricks can help or hinder your chances. Up to four golfers can take to the green and compete locally** or online***. Customize your character, grab your clubs, and get ready to play when EVERYBODY’S GOLF: Hot Shots launches on the Nintendo Switch system this year.
  • Witchbrook : Discover the magic around you in this enchanting adventure. Start your stay as the new witch in the bustling seaside town of Mossport.   • No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES : As Kaname Date, a special agent with an AI embedded in his left eye, your mission is to track down Iris, an internet idol who is stuck in a mysterious escape game. Conduct interviews to investigate Iris’ whereabouts, delve into a subject’s dreams to reveal clues hidden in their psyche, and solve mind-boggling puzzles to uncover the truth. No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch system on July 25th.
  • RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army : Unleash the supernatural and accept the deal of the century in this classic action role-playing game from ATLUS. This remastered classic game in the Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner series includes several improvements from the original game, including redesigned visuals, voiceovers, a combat system, and much more. Become the demon summoner Raidou Kuzunoha and work alongside 120 demonic allies to unravel the mysteries that stand in your way. RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army launches on the Nintendo Switch system on June 19. A Digital Deluxe version of the game will also be offered. Pre-orders begin in Nintendo eShop later today.
  • GRADIUS ORIGINS : It’s time to venture into deep space and take on relentless alien forces in the Gradius Origins collection, bringing together 17 versions of six arcade classics: GRADIUS, SALAMANDER, LIFE FORCE, GRADIUS II, GRADIUS III , and SALAMANDER 2. This collection also includes the highly anticipated GRADIUS III AM Show version, and a brand new entry: SALAMANDER III. Pilot your ship through dangerous enemy lines, upgrade your weapons, and master the fast-paced gameplay that is the hallmark of the Gradius series. New gameplay features include recoil function, save at any time, shock detection reduction, invisible mode and much more. GRADIUS ORIGINS will launch on the Nintendo Switch console on August 7. Pre-orders begin later today in Nintendo eShop.
  • Shadow Labyrinth : Consume the darkness in this 2D action-platformer that revisits the iconic Pac-Man series by transcending genres. On a mysterious planet where relics of past wars are found, Swordsman No. 8 is awakened by PUCK, a floating yellow orb.   • The Wandering Village : Experience a city-building strategy game on the back of a gigantic wandering creature. Build a colony and form a symbiotic relationship with this colossus to survive in this hostile, yet beautiful, post-apocalyptic world. The Wandering Village is coming to the Nintendo Switch system on July 17.
