A new non-profit organization, La Confrindie, is created in the Eastern Townships to support independent video game studios, strengthen the local community and promote the creativity of a booming sector. This initiative aims to position Sherbrooke as a key player in the Quebec video game industry.
A forward-looking mission
Confrindie aspires to provide sustainable support to independent studios in the region, in particular by offering them resources, training and development opportunities. The organization also wants to build a collaborative and dynamic ecosystem, by facilitating exchanges between industry players, whether they are developers, e-athletes or the next generation of students.
The project is based on strong partnerships with major institutions such as the NAD-UQAC School, Ubisoft Sherbrooke and La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec, which have supported the organization since its inception.

An initiative led by enthusiasts
The project is led by a dedicated team, long committed to the development of the Estrie video game community.
At the head of La Confrindie, a committed team of eight members from the video game industry:
- Thomas Crozet (Vitam Aeternam Studio),
- Sarah Doyon and Gabriel Rolland (Misstic Studio),
- Marc-Henri Faure and Audrey Bacon (video game enthusiasts),
- Julien Bouvrais (The Believer Company),
- Karyne Houle (Quebec Institutional Esports Network),
- François Mathieu (Erupting Avocado).
Among the activities already highlighted by La Confrindie are popular events such as the Apéro du jeu vidéo and the Game Jam Sherbrooke, which attract many participants each year and help strengthen ties within the community.
With this dynamic, La Confrindie aims to propel the Eastern Townships to the forefront of the video game industry in Quebec.
