On October 16, Nintendo invited the media, streamers and other influencers to Place Bonaventure to discover its selection of games for the 2025 holiday season.
We share our visit with you, while there are only two months left before Christmas (already!!).
Two new products to discover in preview
Let’s start with the most exciting: two games not yet released were available for trial at this event.
First of all, we were able to try Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, a new crossover between the Zelda universe and the Dynasty Warriors game system.
This time, you play as Zelda as she is sent back to the past (as seen in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom) and must fight a war against Ganondorf alongside the wise Rauru and his wife, Queen Sonia.
The Hyrule Warriors series is now a known fact after many episodes (not counting the very similar Fire Emblem Warriors), but the experience is still as enjoyable, if the short demo we tried is anything to go by.
Tears of the Kingdom features are also used, including item crafting and Zonai artifacts. Well, we won’t be making vehicles like in Link’s adventure, but fighters are using weapons that are reminiscent of these original constructions. Fighters can also scavenge for Zonai weapons (and batteries) and use them to take down enemy armies.

But our favorite, obviously, is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. After 8 years of waiting, we were finally able to try a short passage of Samus Aran’s new adventure.
And let’s celebrate, the wait will have been worth it.
First of all, let’s talk about the unique grip. We hold our left joycon in the traditional way, but we use the right joycon like a mouse. This unique blend gives us the freedom of movement of a joystick, but the shooting accuracy of a mouse. The best of both worlds, in other words.
Obviously, more traditional control modes will also be offered, but after trying this hybrid mode, we are thinking of adopting it.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is also a visual slap in the face. For us, this is the first game on Switch 2 that represents a real leap forward from the original Switch’s graphics.
We can’t wait to try Samus Aran’s new adventure. Watch our review of this title which will arrive on our consoles on December 4th.
A busy first year
Nintendo also wanted to highlight the other games already available on the Switch 2, which is about to experience its first holiday season.

We have to admit that the Switch 2’s release schedule has been busy since the console’s release in June: we could try Mario Kart World, Kirby and the Forgotten Land + Star Crossed World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Super Mario Galaxy 1+2, Hades II, Silksong and Pokémon Legends ZA (review coming soon!) to name a few.
