Human-scale AI for the creative, cultural and entertainment industries.
A major conference expected on February 26 and 27 in Montreal
Montreal, January 29, 2025 – After a successful first gathering in 2022, during which a few hundred people gathered in Montreal to discuss the issues inherent in artificial intelligence (AI) in the entertainment industry, E-AI 2025 will be back at the Palais des congrès on February 26 and 27 to explore how AI is redefining the creative industries, cultural and entertainment sectors.
Under the theme “On a Human Scale”, this unique event aims to demonstrate that technology can be a catalyst for creativity while respecting the authenticity and diversity of human expressions. Much more than just a technology conference, E-AI is a call to action for those who care about the future of creativity. It’s a chance for artists, professionals in the industry or simply passionate about bold ideas, to learn, share and play with the best minds in the field.
Bringing together technology experts, visionary artists and thought leaders, E-AI 2025 offers a rich program of exclusive demonstrations, inspiring panels and collaboration opportunities shaping the future of the creative and cultural industries. E-AI 2025 is a platform where innovation and humanity converge to reimagine the role of AI in a world that values creativity, ethics and diversity. In doing so, it is committed to inspiring artists and cultural entrepreneurs by ensuring that the AI revolution creates positive opportunities for human beings. In other words, it’s about rehumanizing AI.
“AI is a powerful technological force that, like previous technological advances, could very well be adopted by the cultural and creative industries to further explore the boundaries of creativity,” said Mark Stephens, Vice President of Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships at Connexion TV and member of E-AI’s Executive Board.
Alexandre Teodoresco, vice-president, strategic development and innovation of the collective Les 7 Doigts and co-president of E-AI, agrees. “When we talk about AI among colleagues in the creative industries, or even in the corridors of conferences on the supervision of AI, it is not about dangers that we are talking about, but about opportunities. We are usually fascinated by what these tools are already capable of doing and their potential. We are also curious and want to get to grips with these technologies. This is what E-AI is all about. »
Two days: 50 sessions, workshops and immersive experiences
- To learn and better understand what can and cannot be done with AI;
- To share and discuss the failures and successes of AI;
- To play and experiment interactively;
- To explore applications and master current tools through demonstrations, workshops and immersive tours.
Confirmed speakers include Sandra Rodriguez of M.I.T., David Usher of Reimagine AI, journalist and artist Dennis Kastrup, Yves Jacquier of Ubisoft/La Forge and Anne Nguyen of the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec. *
The main pillars
The many themes that will structure the exchanges are grouped under four main pillars:
- The impact of AI on artists;
- Creative industries;
- Sectoral issues;
- Practical case studies.
Concretely, we will address the impact of AI on the creative professions and on artists. It will therefore discuss the new professions created by AI and how the environment can adapt to these changes. We will also discuss the integration of AI as an administrative work tool, compared to AI as a creative tool in an artistic presentation, in the creative process, and in front of an audience. We will also have the opportunity to discuss issues specific to AI within the cultural, creative and creative industries. Issues related to education, the democratization of tools, copyright and intellectual property, monetization, discoverability and commercialization of works will be on the agenda. To top it off, we’ll discuss AI adoption and analyze real-world cases.
Strong support
In addition to counting on the Palais des congrès as a presenting partner of the meeting, E-AI 2025 benefited from the financial participation of the City of Montreal, the Government of Quebec and the Government of Canada to ensure its organization.
