Imane Anys, better known as Pokimane, has announced her departure from Twitch.

Having started streaming in 2012 and on Twitch in 2014, Pokimane had become one of the most popular women on the streaming platform over the years.

Thanks to its content mainly based on the broadcast of its video games, it has been able to rally more than 9.3 million subscribers of fans, which allowed it to make a living by accumulating sponsorships.

Pokimane sent the message “the end of an era” in a post on X/Twitter on January 30, 2024. The tweet was accompanied by an official promotional image of the Twitch app sporting his face, highlighting his close association with the site in the past.

Known for her dynamic personality and great sense of humor, she has become one of the iconic faces of Twitch. Today, she is saying goodbye to explore new horizons.

“Twitch has been my home for a decade,” Pokimane said. “But it’s time to say thank you for all the memories and love during my days in League, Fortnite, and Among Us.”

The Amazon team responded to Pokimane’s tweet by congratulating her on her “incredible journey” over the past decade, expressing pride in all that she has accomplished while also being curious to see what she will do next in her career.

It should also be noted that in so many years of working as a public figure, “Poki” has avoided many controversies, and has maintained a benevolent image about himself. A very rare feat in the world of streamers.

The next day, Pokimane announced her first stream on YouTube, signifying her change of platform and “employer.” No doubt YouTube is delighted to have been able to get someone of the famous streamer’s notoriety back.

We wish him all the best on YouTube and hope that the new tools and the change of audience suit him.
