Available since June 11, 2021 on PlayStation 5 and since July 26, 2023 on PC.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is an action-action platformer. We jump on platforms and throw hundreds of projectiles at the hundreds of enemies that appear in the world we explore.
The game is beautiful, the animation is at the top and everything works very smoothly. Imagine a Pixar movie, interactive, and even more beautiful, that’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
To break the monotony, jump on platforms and shoot at enemies, then upgrade weapons, or buy new ones, there are phases of gliding on rails, phases on the back of fantastic creatures, races with opponents or hacking.
In the hacking phases, instead of looking for the solution to an absurd puzzle like the previous episodes, we play as a robot, which aims and shoots at viruses.
There are many, many environments and the options for moving the heroes are fabulous, to the point that in some cases during my explorations, I found myself in places not foreseen by the developers and sometimes I triggered computer bugs in the game.
Some collectibles will give you a lot of trouble, and the map is not always clear and does not allow you to change levels even when the worlds have several levels. However, if the card indicates an object to be recovered but you do not find a way to access it, it is because this access will be unlocked later.
I appreciated not having to constantly change equipment between the two heroes, and the graphics.
Really the work done here is remarkable and everyone can find his account.
There may be a little too many different weapons, and a little too many items to collect, especially to upgrade the weapons, but we get used to it, and we can do without them. It just lacks a button to center the camera, you will have to constantly adjust it with the right stick of your DualSense Playstation 5 controller.
The game ends in about 12 hours, and 18 hours if you want to find everything.
